Dr Martin Read was born in Jamaica and moved to the United States in 1977. He graduated from UTA with a biochemistry degree with magna cum laude honors. He then attended Southwestern Medical School and graduated in the top of his class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He completed his residency at St Paul University Hospital in Dallas where he was chief resident. Dr Read started his OB/GYN practice in Fort Worth in 1990. Since then, he has enjoyed treating thousands of patients, delivering more than 12,000 babies in his career. He enjoys treating women in all phases of life. He is the recipient of many yearly awards voted on by patients including DFW Child Mom-Approved doctor and has won teacher of the year for every year of his involvement in training physicians and physician assistants at UNT and UT Southwestern Medical Center. Dr Read is a loyal husband, proud father of a daughter, two sons and a grandfather to four beautiful grandchildren. He is an avid sportsman and outdoorsman who loves hunting, boating and training his hunting dogs.
